Terms & privacy
This is a working draft written to reflect how Mokkola actually operates today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and it will be updated — with notice on this page — before Mokkola charges for anything beyond the boosts described below.

Terms of use
1. Who can use Mokkola
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to post a listing, apply for business verification, or otherwise transact through Mokkola. You may browse listings without an account.
2. Your listings and your account
You are responsible for everything you post. A listing must describe an item or service you actually have the right to sell, must be accurate, and must not violate any law. We remove listings that break these rules and suspend repeat offenders — see the prohibited list below.
3. Prohibited items and conduct
The following are never allowed on Mokkola: illegal goods or services; counterfeit or stolen items; weapons, ammunition or explosives; drugs or drug paraphernalia; live animals traded in violation of local law; adult services; content that harasses, discriminates against, or threatens any person; and any attempt to defraud another user (including fake listings, phishing, or requesting payment outside the safety practices described in our Buyer Protection page).
4. Verification is not a guarantee
A verified badge means we checked that a business is real — its registration documents and an ID were reviewed by a person. It is not an endorsement of the business, and it does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of anything that business lists. Buyers should still apply ordinary judgment and the safety practices in our Buyer Protection page.
5. Mokkola is an introduction service
Mokkola connects buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between them, we do not process payments, and we do not hold funds in escrow. Any agreement to buy or sell is solely between the buyer and the seller, on whatever terms they agree.
6. Fees
Posting a listing and applying for business verification are free, and always will be. Optional paid boosts (increased visibility for a listing) may be offered; where they are, the price is shown before you pay. We will never introduce a fee for basic listing or verification without clearly announcing it first.
7. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions and other content you submit. By posting it, you give Mokkola permission to display, reproduce and distribute it on the site and in our marketing for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. You confirm you have the right to grant us that permission.
8. Moderation and enforcement
We may remove any listing, review, or account, and may reject or revoke a verification, at our discretion — including for suspected fraud, repeated complaints, or violation of these terms. We aim to be fair and to explain our decisions when asked, but we are not obligated to host any particular content.
9. No warranty
Mokkola is provided as available. We do our best to keep it accurate and running, but we make no guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing or business information is accurate — that responsibility sits with the person who posted it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mokkola is not liable for any dispute, loss, or damage arising from a transaction between users, or from content posted by a user. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the platform grows; material changes will be noted on this page with a new date. You may stop using Mokkola and request deletion of your account at any time — see Your data below.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.
Privacy policy
What we collect
Information you give us directly: your name, phone number, email, and city when you post a listing or apply for verification; your business details and the registration/ID documents you upload when applying for verification; the content of any message you send us. We also collect basic technical data automatically — IP address, browser type, and pages visited — to keep the service secure and understand how it's used.
Verification documents get special handling
ID and business registration documents are stored separately from everything else on the platform, are never publicly accessible, and can only be viewed by a logged-in staff member reviewing your application. They are used solely to confirm your business is real.
How we use it
To operate the marketplace and directory, review verification applications, respond to your messages, keep the platform secure and prevent fraud, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Mokkola (such as hosting and, in future, payment processing), under obligations to protect it, or when required by law.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.
Your data
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, at any time — contact us and we will act within a reasonable time.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls, and restricted storage for sensitive documents — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users if we become aware of a breach involving their personal data.
Children
Mokkola is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
